The Leamington  Courier  - " this production has just the right mixture of story, slapstick and spectacle to make it a hit with all the family. Dames Diary Five - Rehearsals have started!

Dames Diary
The farms very own Mother Goose has put pen to paper to share some of her thoughts in the run up to panto season! Watch this space for future jottings from her loveliness…

Hello my lovelies,
It is me, Mother Goose back for some more gossiping!
Well, the time has finally come and all the cast have come together to start rehearsing for Mother Goose. We all met at the Royal Spa Centre last week and had a good old catch up over a cup of tea and a few hobnobs before we started learning our lines.
We all have our scripts, ooh they are handy especially if we need to get a fire going he he!
Everyone is very excited, the principle boy – who I think is actually a girl – is getting into character and striding around the place and practising her thigh slapping! Demon King (urgh) has been getting into the part by avoiding all showers and his toothbrush – how lucky for the rest of us! Our lovely Jill has been trying on all of her costumes; oh she is a pretty wee thing.
Fairy Betty has been prancing about the place (typical!) and the adorable Archie has been busy getting to grips with his lines too, I have been helping him actually, he is such a lovely little man!
Oh our director is calling me, I can’t get a moments peace around here being the biggest star of the show! I haven’t made too many demands on my ‘rider’ just the usual – tea, shortbread, sausage sandwiches, flowers (pink ones), a TV (I need to keep up with the soaps you know) and my own personal stylist. I think that’s all fairly standard really!
So best dash dears!
Big kisses,
Mother Goose

Dame’s diary - 3

Hello my dears!
It’s me the delicious Mother Goose back for some more gossiping – don’t you just love a good gossip over a cuppa and a rich tea biscuit or two!
Well dears, I have to say I have been somewhat preoccupied of late with some rather weighty issues if you catch my drift, before panto starts.
I have been thinking about what and how much I eat as I need to stay trim and ready for the exhauuusting rehearsal schedule which is drawing ever closer – eek!
I take my inspiration from the lovely Nigella though, she has two prominent features we all love and envy!... No, not those features, her ability to turn leftovers into a la carte dishes and her ability to look fabulous when she does it.
Of course, food is at a premium here as the village owner, Squire Skinflint keeps putting up the rents. He’s a stingy man! Snag is, his daughter’s beautiful and my son Jack is in love with her, so I have to keep the Squire on side!
And then there’s my other son Archie, a simple lad, but I am worrying about him. I had to take him to the doctors this week. He bought himself a new roll on deodorant. It said “remove cap and push up bottom”. Well, when the doctor stopped laughing, he removed the offending article and with any luck Archie should be able to walk properly by the time the panto starts!
Until next time,
Mother Goose

Dame’s diary - 2
Hello my dears!
Hope you are all well and getting excited about Christmas time not long now dears, less then 80 sleeps I think!
It has been a busy few weeks for me, what with getting ready for the panto, shopping for new frocks and giving my farm a good old autumn clean I haven’t had a moment’s peace.
Now my son Jack seems to have developed a bit of a crush on the Baron’s daughter Jill. This is a bit of a problem, because the Baron collects all the rent around here and he’s always putting it up, so we don’t like him much. But his daughter Jill is beautiful, and I can see why Jack likes her! My other son, Archie is a bit dafter than Jack and all he worries about are his magic tricks . I do wonder about that boy sometimes!
I’ve found a fabulous store on Ebay called ‘slapiton.com’ recently. Oh, I do long to be beautiful. They’ve got some gorgeous bling I’ve been looking at – but I want to LOOK beautiful, not just accessorise beautifully. You know what I mean, girls, don’t you? Problem is we’re so very poor…. C’mon, we’re poorer than that.
Well I’d best go and see if any of the hens have laid any eggs to sell at market yet, or whether the wheat has ripened to get the old windmill going. We won’t be able to pay our rent to the Baron… Still, there’s a sale on at ‘Geese-r-us’ tomorrow, so I might pop down there for a ‘gander’ around!
Until next time,
Mother Goose

Dame’s Diary

The Spa Centre’s very own Mother Goose has put pen to paper to share some of her thoughts in the run up to panto season! Watch this space for future jottings from her loveliness…

Hello my dears!

Well, this is lovely isn’t it I do so love addressing my public! Well my dears it is all go in the wonderful world of Mother Goose, I haven’t had a moment to myself recently with all the panto prep starting.

This year’s show is Mother Goose and of course stars moi but also some other lovelies, that Mike Royce chap is playing the dastardly Demon Discontent (booooooooo!) and Katie Lavelli plays the gorgeous fairy – ooh she is lovely I am hoping to raid her make-up bag when she isn’t looking and squeeze my size 13s into some of her gorgeous shoes.

It is very exciting as we have just held our official launch – yes you heard me right dears, it may only be September but we are gearing ourselves up for panto time! Me and my co-stars had a great time at the Spa Centre, trying on our costumes for the first time and having a good old chin-wag. We even got to pop into the local tanning shop to top up our fake tans!

Between getting ready for the panto and keeping up with my new fitness regime – I go belly dancing once a week – I have been glued to my telly watching X Factor. My darlings it is such a rollercoaster isn’t it? What with that Simon, ooh he’s lovely, I especially love his hair it reminds me of a brilo pad, and all of the fabulous contestants what more could you ask for?

I am actually considering entering myself next year, I do a fantastic rendition of “I’m in the mood for dancing” - my neighbours love it. Every time I get my karaoke machine out and have a sing-a-long they bang on my wall – I think it is their way of applauding.

Speaking of X-Factor, did you know we have our very own version, the ‘Eggs Factor’ taking place on Sunday 19th September? Do come along and see yours truly doing my very best Cheryl Cole impressions while judging on the panel! And don’t forget to submit your application on the Spa Centre website, if you want to be considered to star in the panto itself alongside yours truly!!

Well, I best be off, I am actually going on my hols this week, I am off to Stratford. I don’t like to go too far dears I like to know I can still get a cup of PG Tips and Sunday roast!

Until next time,

Mother Goose
